Fox Haven

Remember my flashback post about Fox Haven? Well... I got sick of trying to describe it to Jerry all the time and we decided that we would take a drive up there and take a look around. It looked like it had never been used since the last time I was there. It brought back so many good memories and I caught myself describing stories and pointing out different places on the property. "This is where we buried our dog, Jazz." "This is where we would always see the Mama Moose and the baby Moose." "This is where my Grandpa taught us how to make a walking stick." I wish so badly that I could create even more memories at Fox Haven with my little family, but I am so grateful for the times that I had there and the memories that were made. We took a walk around the cabins, took a drive into Oakley and ate at the Summit Inn and even grabbed a shake at the Polar King. It was a great way to spend an afternoon and I was so glad to be able to show Jerry and Grady the place I love so much.

{this picture cracks me up! I don't know why but it just does.  Like father like son I guess}

Father's Day 2011

Happiest Fathers Day to the best Father I know... my amazing husband.  He loves Grady so much and you can see it in his face every time he looks at him.  I fall even more in love with Jerry every day.  Thanks for being such an amazing and wonderful husband and father.

Heritage Days Fair

Our city had their annual city fair. It was fun and FREE (can't beat that, right?)!! We headed over and watched a magic show, shopped the booths, enjoyed the fabulous weather and even got some deep fried oreos (delish). It was a fun family night out!

DAD

You know when you marry someone and one of the qualities you look for is that you think they will be a good dad? Well, I always thought that about Jerry. I saw him wrestle with his nephews and talk about princess stuff with his nieces. I knew he would be a great dad one day. Little did I know how amazing he would be with his son. I never knew how gentle and sweet Jerry could be. He has such a rough and tough exterior, but he is just a big softy inside. The love he has for Grady just oozes out of him and you can see it from a million miles away. I feel so lucky to have such an amazing partner and Grady is so lucky to have Jerry for a Dad.

Pigeons

Yep. We have pigeons. And a pigeon coop. Jerry and his friend Jeff built it, and it actually looks pretty good... besides the fact that it is similar to the shape of an outhouse. I even had one of my neighbors ask us if we had an outhouse in our backyard. Nope... no outhouse... but we sure do have some awesome pigeons. Now here are a few frequently asked questions that I would like to answer.
-Yes, Jerry is a very normal, non-psycho kind of guy. Apparently it is very normal to own pigeons in some circles of friends.
-No, Desi will not kill the pigeons. They are for training use only.
-We have seven pigeons currently, and they will start mating in about a year or so.
-NO, we WILL NOT eat the eggs.
-No, we don't hear them or see them most of the time. It is really like they aren't even there.
-No, they don't stink.... too bad.
-No, I will NEVER touch or help do ANYTHING that has to do with these birds.
-Yes, they have names. Apparently they are Jerry's new pets.
I support Jerry in everything he does and every passion he pursues. But I think this is as far as this passion is going to go.
Here are a couple of shots of "the birds".

The proud pigeon owner.
You may all think this is a strange hobby, but when I questioned Jerry about it.... he just said that he was "following the prophet". Check it out HERE.

Our Cruise: Mexican Riviera 2010

Let's face it. Blog posts are always better with pictures. So.... here are A LOT of pictures for your viewing pleasure.
Day1: Travel Day/ First day on ship
We were completely exhausted after a long day of running around at the airport, waiting in lines to get on the ship etc. So I don't have too many pictures of this day. Walking around the ship before we set sail.
Day 2:First Day at SeaWe were so white and we didn't even know it.
Dinner was delish. But dessert was even better. Hot Chocolate Melting Cake.
First formal dinner night.

Loved these little towel animals.
Day 3: Second Day at Sea
Even whiter than before. Ew.

More random towel animals.
We went to a show every night after dinner.
Day 4: Puerto Vallarta
Unfortunately Jerry got sick a few minutes after we got off the ship, so we didn't get to see too much of this city, but we liked what we saw!

We spent most of the day on the ship, so I got to try the waterslide. It was fun!

Day 5: Mazatlan
We went to an old mayan ceremony in Mazatlan which was pretty cool. We did a little shopping, and we went to a private beach and relaxed and had some yummy lunch. It was a great day!

The beautiful beach
Jerry was loving his pineapple tamales.
Our own little tiki hut.

our awesome taxi. I don't know why I thought this was so cool. but I did. and I still do.
Day 6: Cabo San Lucas
This was by far my favorite port. It was so beautiful, like your own personal paradise. I hope to go back again one day and spend more time exploring what Cabo has to offer.

Day 7: Last day at Sea
The ship had a lot to do during the days at sea. They had mini golf, golfing range, pools, waterslides.... but best of all..... lots of self serve soft serve ice cream. We probably both ate at least 20 in the week we were there.
Last dinner.
Our dinner service guys.... Batman and Robin... or, Jeffrey and Laksana.
Our dinner crew, Matt and Afton.

Day 8: Travel Day
We were so sad that we had to leave such a great vacation. But we were tired, and ready to go home and see our little Desi girl. I would go back and do this vacation again in a heart beat. Until next time, Mexico... until next time.
So sad our vacation has come to an end.I got to see Hayley babe at the airport on the way home! What a doll!So that is it. Our vacation summed up in a few pictures. Wish I could be back. Boo.
