Fox Haven

 Remember my flashback post about Fox Haven? Well... I got sick of trying to describe it to Jerry all the time and we decided that we would take a drive up there and take a look around. It looked like it had never been used since the last time I was there. It brought back so many good memories and I caught myself describing stories and pointing out different places on the property. "This is where we buried our dog, Jazz." "This is where we would always see the Mama Moose and the baby Moose." "This is where my Grandpa taught us how to make a walking stick." I wish so badly that I could create even more memories at Fox Haven with my little family, but I am so grateful for the times that I had there and the memories that were made. We took a walk around the cabins, took a drive into Oakley and ate at the Summit Inn and even grabbed a shake at the Polar King. It was a great way to spend an afternoon and I was so glad to be able to show Jerry and Grady the place I love so much.

{this picture cracks me up! I don't know why but it just does.  Like father like son I guess}

Sprigtime!

Walks in the park are making it feel more and more like spring. We love taking Grady and the puppy's to the park and enjoying the great weather! Let's hope for more springlike weather ahead!

Pig & Fox

There is a pig farm not too far from our house and every time I drive by I can't help but stare in awe at the enormity of these beasts. You can't quite tell from the pictures... but they are HUGE. I mean BIG. I have never seen anything like it.

We also had a little fox den up the street from our house and every day on my way home I would stop and watch the little baby foxes bask in the sunlight. They are the cutest little things!

I really love living where I do... I can't wait for a little boy to join our family and enjoy all these animals right in our neighborhood! He's gonna love it!

Island Park 2010

We kept up the family tradition and headed out to Island Park for Labor Day. It was a blast to have the whole Flannery crew together in one place! Jerry did some fishing while I got some much needed R&R. We went into West Yellowstone one afternoon and got some yummy ice cream and hung out with the family. We also went to Yellowstone National Park to see Old Faithful. It was Jerry's first time seeing Old Faithful, and I don't think he was all that impressed. We had fun driving through the park and seeing lots of animals and hot springs. I wish I had taken more pictures while we were in Island Park, but it was so nice to be in the cooler weather and be with the family. Mark and Becky always plan a fun vacation for everyone! Thanks, we had a blast!

{this is what Jerry looked like as we were driving through the park... nerd alert!} {Tate man}

A little Bit Country

One of my favorite things about the city we live in is the combination of city and country. You can turn a corner and see cows, fields of corn, wild animals, horses, pastures, run down barns and a lot of open land. I love the combination of the two worlds. We get the big city feel with a small city setting. It is great. We took a drive the other day just down the road from where we live and I couldn't help but snap a few pictures of what we saw.

{now mind you I just have a point and shoot camera (hint hint Jerry...hint hint)... these are no professional shots by any means... but you get the idea}

West Fork, Montana

Remember last years West Fork adventure? Well... we did it again this year, and as usual, it was a blast to be with the Flannery crew. It was nice and relaxing up there, not to mention great company! Jerry did some fishing while I relaxed with Desi. She loved the outdoors and just wanted to sniff her little nose all around that place! What a great labor day weekend... if only it didn't end so soon.
